PortStone Stone and Brick Patterns

PortStone can be made in 12 different patterns plus 4 border patterns.  Any PortStone color and be made in any PortStone pattern.  This gives more than 150 possible color/pattern combinations to choose form.  You choose your pattern, you choose your color and PortStone will make YOUR floor especially for you.

With PortStone, the pattern is already established!

All PortStone products are made with the pattern already laid out in sheets of brick or stone.  Depending on the brick pattern or stone pattern chosen, each sheet will contain from 3 to more than 16 bricks or stones, already laid out, positioned, spaced and sized, in what ever pattern you choose.  Most brick patterns are "keyed" so that they will only fit together one way which makes it very easy to align when being installed.  For example, if installed regular brick pavers, the Herringbone pattern can be very difficult to keep straight.  Because regular brick flooring is laid one-brick-at-the-time, great care must be taken to properly space and position each brick.  But with PortStone, our Herringbone pattern comes in sheets of 16 brick per sheet with each sheet covering 3.75 square feet, and each sheet is keyed top and bottom and on each side so that it only fits together one way.  We do suggest that you pop some chalk lines on the floor just to help keep the overall floor straight, but that should be done regardless of what kind of brick or tile is being laid.

Use PortStone's border stone or brick patterns to really accent your floor or patio.  Our Soldier Course brick border pattern comes in 3' strips for easy fast installation.  We even make mitered corner pieces to dress up each corner with just the finishing touch to accent any border application.  A nice look can be achieved by insetting the border 8" to 16" from the edge of the room or patio.  Then use the same brick or stone that is used in the rest of the area to fill in around the edges between the wall and the border.

Diagram of Promenade Pattern

 PROMENADE

PortStone's Promenade pattern is made up of 4 pieces with each piece containing  a quarter circle bordered by 1 row of 4" X 4" Tiles.  Each piece is approximately 33" X 33" with a full section of Promenade (4 pieces) covering an area of approximately      5' 7" X 5'7".

Promenade makes an excellent accent piece for foyers.  By bordering with 4" X 4" PortStone tiles and in some cases Soldier Course Borders, PortStone's Promenade pattern can be made to fit almost any foyer or entry hall.  A good example of this can be seen by clicking here. (Then click the BACK button on your browser to return to this page.)

FLAGSTONE

The Flagstone pattern contains many stones varying in sizes ranging from as small as approximately 3 1/2" X 5" to as large as 8 1/2" X 13 1/2" with all sizes in-between.  Each Flagstone sheet is keyed top and bottom and on both sides so that it will fit together 2 ways.  The sheets are made in 6 different configurations and the stones within each sheet were very carefully designed so that when our Flagstone pattern is properly installed it is extremely difficult to find a pattern repeat.  The diagram shown here is not intended to depict an actual sheet of PortStone's flagstone pattern, but rather the general random appearance of the pattern.  A good example of our flagstone pattern can be seen by clicking here.
